What the results mean:
- RC 5 burglary resistance (EN 1627): the construction withstands attempts using power tools (angle grinder, jigsaw, drill) for at least 15 minutes.
- FB7-NS – the highest level of bullet resistance according to DIN EN 1522/1523. The system resists shots from a 7.62×51 mm calibre rifle without penetration or splintering.
- The Arena test method was introduced in the draft standard prEN 13123-2:2023. It covers large charges (100–500 kg TNT) at distances of 15–30 m, simulating realistic scenarios of industrial accidents. In Ukraine, blast-resistant windows were tested according to DSTU EN 13123-2:2006.
- EPR4 (Explosion Pressure Resistance) – a blast resistance class according to DIN 52290, ensuring protection against high-intensity shock waves, including prolonged pressure impact. It is taken into account in the design of façades and doors for industrial facilities and strategic sites.
The S1es-60 system is designed for large glazed areas and looks like a standard façade. It combines multiple levels of protection – from burglary to bullet and blast resistance – without affecting appearance. This provides architects with freedom when designing modern buildings for government institutions, banks, industrial facilities, and private projects.
The construction enables multi-storey façades, atriums, roof lights, and integrates easily with other SÄLZER® systems (windows, doors). It is also compatible with Schüco FWS 60 profile systems, allowing varied requirements to be met while maintaining a unified design.
