REHAU Window Solutions is fully transferring the KALEIDO PAINT programme for its window profiles to water-based varnishes. This was reported in the company's press centre.
The concept of decors for window profiles KALEIDO COLOR was presented at the world window exhibition fensterbau / frontale in 2016. It was complemented by trendy colours and decors. And now REHAU is developing the programme in the direction of sustainable solutions. And from April 2023, it will use water-based varnishes.
The company was prompted to take this step by growing market demand. It is also a step ahead of the curve in view of the ever-stricter requirements of the European Union. Among the advantages of the new lacquers, REHAU cites the neutral CO2 emissions, recyclability and Cradle-to-Cradle certification.
Other components can be coated with the new varnishes. This makes the decor more versatile. Window profiles, roller shutter guides or facade elements can be painted in the same colour.
Earlier, in order to increase the sustainability of the window industry, REHAU expanded its plant for recycling old metal-plastic windows.
