VBH Deutschland GmbH initiates insolvency proceedings in Germany

On 2 April 2025, the hardware trading company for doors and windows, VBH Deutschland GmbH, filed for the opening of insolvency proceedings in the form of self-administered restructuring with the court in Ludwigsburg. The company is continuing its operations without interruption. Employees' wages are guaranteed by state insurance for a period of up to three months. This was announced by the VBH Holding press office.

The decision was prompted by challenging conditions in the German construction market. According to the company’s managing directors, Fekke van Dijk and Michael Karthaus, VBH Deutschland GmbH has been operating for years under declining revenues and rising costs. In this environment, despite restructuring efforts, the company has been unable to achieve stable profitability.
Due to similar market conditions, NSG Group is also shutting down one of its float glass production lines at a plant in Germany.

The new management model allows company executives to carry out the restructuring process independently under the supervision of a court-appointed administrator.

According to Lubomir Bohac, head of VBH Holding, the procedure only affects the German subsidiary. In most other countries, VBH continues to grow. Only the German construction sector remains in stagnation.

VBH supplies components and installation materials to window and door manufacturers, including its own brand, greenteQ. Its product range includes hardware, tools, installation materials, and security components.
The company operates in more than 20 countries and employs 1,600 people, 500 of whom are based in Germany. In 2024, VBH recorded a turnover of around €500 million.
