In January 2026, a new professional standard titled “Installer of window and door structures”, code 719, was entered into the Qualifications Register. It was developed by the Association Ukrainian Manufacturers of Transparent Structures (UMTS).
The standard defines requirements for the installation of window and door structures in the external building envelope.
It does not cover roof windows or internal doors.
For the first time at the level of a professional standard, the document describes installation planning, analysis of junction details, outboard installation, control of the installation joint as a factor of energy efficiency, and responsibility for dew point positioning, airtightness and durability.
Under the standard, the installer works independently and is obliged to stop work in the event of danger. It provides for two qualification pathways: training in vocational education institutions and confirmation of competence through assessment centres.
The standard was developed within the WindowED project, under which the Association Ukrainian Manufacturers of Transparent Structures is building a complete workforce training chain for the manufacture and installation of transparent structures.
