The KMD.F50M mullion-transom system is an enhanced version of the classic KMD.F50, designed for increased efficiency and reliability. The new mullion with an insulated internal contour ensures improved drainage, improving the structure's durability.
This system is ideal for constructing flat and radial glass facades, as well as suspended or embedded structures. The wide range of profile sizes allows for the selection of mullions and transoms to accommodate various load levels, including complex architectural solutions like winter gardens or galleries with glass roofs.
Flexible Installation:
Mullion and transom connections are typically made using an overlay method (transom over mullion) or butt joint.
Both sequential and parallel profile installation methods are supported, allowing for adaptation to any project requirements.
Strength and Adaptability:
Profiles are selected according to the specifics of the project and the load requirements.
Special reinforcing elements are used for significant loads.
Mullion sizes range from 13 to 230 mm, while transom sizes range from 19 to 155 mm.
Advanced Solutions:
Thermal expansion compensation is achieved through gaps (5–10 mm) that are sealed during installation.
The system allows for transoms to be installed at angles from -7.5° to 45° using special adapters, enabling the creation of curved facades.
Glazing and Sealing:
Double-glazed units or decorative thermal insulation panels with thicknesses from 4 to 52 mm are used.
Integration with KMD 70 window and door systems is possible.
Sealing is ensured with ethylene-propylene rubber (EPDM) gaskets and butyl foil tape.
High thermal performance is achieved using thermal inserts made of foamed polyethylene.
Installation:
Glazing is performed from the exterior of the building.
The infill is secured with pressure plates fastened to the structural elements with screws at intervals no greater than 250 mm.
The pressure plates are covered with decorative caps for an aesthetically pleasing facade appearance.
