Window locks: opening restrictors and child safety

Window locks are locking devices that limit or block sash opening and improve home security, including protecting children from accidentally opening a window.

They include mortise and surface-mounted models, key-operated locks and comb-type restrictors. Such solutions make unauthorised opening from outside harder and allow the sash to be fixed in a partly open position for ventilation.
