Blinds

To protect the premises from excessive sunlight, use blinds with horizontal or vertical lamellas. As a rule, horizontal blinds made of aluminum plate 24 mm or 16 mm wide are used for offices and apartments. They look natural on small and medium-size plastic windows. Since aluminum lamellas are easy to wash, we recommend to install them on the windows of the kitchen. In summer, aluminum blinds protect premises from direct sunrays, but they become hot and heat up the air in the room. For effective sun protection, outdoor systems are used, but the cost of such systems is much higher.
Windows of large sizes are often covered with vertical fabric blinds. Curtain rods can be mounted regardless of the window, so there are no limitations on the width or height. Fabric lamellas 98 mm or 127 mm wide, like those of aluminum, turn around their axis by 180 °. This allows you to adjust the degree of illumination of the room.
Horizontal and vertical blinds should be once in a while cleaned from dust with a vacuum cleaner with a soft, fleecy nozzle. In case of severe contamination, the horizontal ones can be removed, rinsed in a flow of warm water, shaken and reassembled in the reverse order. Though it is better not to experiment with vertical blinds. Fabrics with dustproof and moisture-repellent impregnation can react unpredictably to washing, so we recommend that they would be forwarded to dry-cleaners.
