Swisspacer has announced the opening of a new Technology Centre in Lengwil, Switzerland. Since April 2025, the validation and development infrastructure previously operating in Herzogenrath, Germany, has been relocated there. The company has also expanded its quality control department at the site.
Bringing development and quality control together in one location allows decisions to be made more quickly. New products can now be tested and brought to market more efficiently.
Recently, Swisspacer launched the new Swisspacer Ultimate | Nyxé range — a fully black spacer bar containing 33% recycled material.
“The Technology Centre strengthens our headquarters as a central hub for development,” says Matthias Bach, CEO of Swisspacer. “Concentrating expertise and resources in Lengwil is a clear signal of our commitment to our Swiss roots...”
Expanding testing capabilities is one of the centre’s key areas of development. “Enhanced testing and validation capabilities allow us to assess the properties of new ideas, prototypes and finished products much more quickly,” explains Marie Guin, Head of Research and Development. “From proprietary in-house testing to verification against regulatory standards, our development processes are becoming faster and more robust, while quality continues to improve.”
Loris Buliard, Project Manager for Materials Science, adds: “The Technology Centre primarily improves the transition from materials research to industrial implementation. When development, validation and production work more closely together, iterations can be carried out faster and based on a shared data set.”
Swisspacer is a Swiss company that has been manufacturing spacer bars for energy-efficient insulating glass units (IGUs) for more than 25 years. It is part of the Saint-Gobain Group and was founded in 1998.
