Saint-Gobain Glass unveils new solar control glass for façades: COOL-LITE SKN 155

Saint-Gobain Glass has launched the new COOL-LITE SKN 155 and COOL-LITE SKN 155 II solar control glass products for building façades. The announcement was made by the manufacturer.

The company had previously introduced COOL-LITE SKL 170 glass for complex façade applications. The new SKN 155 series complements this product range.

The new glass combines high light transmission with solar protection. Its light transmission (TL) reaches 50%, while the solar factor (g-value) is 27% in the standard configuration.

These characteristics allow more natural daylight to enter the building while reducing solar heat gain. As a result, the cooling load on building air-conditioning systems can be reduced.

The new coating features a neutral appearance and low reflectivity. The glass maintains a consistent colour regardless of the viewing angle. This makes it suitable for large glazed façades in office, commercial and residential buildings.

COOL-LITE SKN 155 and SKN 155 II are available both as annealed glass and in a version suitable for tempering. The products are offered on PLANICLEAR clear float glass, DIAMANT extra-clear glass and ORAÉ low-carbon glass substrates.

The new series replaces the previous COOL-LITE SKN 154 and SKN 154 II range. The manufacturer states that the transition to the new products will be gradual and will not disrupt customer supply.
