Deceuninck Germany GmbH and German waste management company Biotrans have agreed to collaborate on establishing a collection and recycling system for old windows. The partnership covers the entire process – from dismantling and sorting windows directly on-site to recycling PVC at Deceuninck’s plant in Belgium.
Biotrans is responsible for dismantling, transporting and sorting mixed window waste. The company places collection containers on construction sites throughout Germany. Collected PVC, wooden and aluminium windows are delivered to Biotrans’s site in Schwerte, Germany. There, the materials are sorted, unusable fractions are removed, old PVC windows are shredded, and metal components are separated. The result is high-quality raw material suitable for reuse in Deceuninck’s products.
The collaboration aims to simplify participation in material reuse for window manufacturers.
As OKNA.ua highlights, European brands are gradually building systems for collecting and recycling window waste. For example, IGU manufacturer AGC Energypane also provides special containers for old glass directly on sites in Belgium.
