Ivan Bohdan, General Director of Winkhaus Ukraine, announced on his social media page that a plastic window made with the WDS 76 profile system has successfully passed European laboratory tests for RC2 resistance class according to the EN 1627 standard.
During the tests, windows of various sizes, configurations, and assemblies were examined. As a result, official European test protocols were obtained.
The RC2 class confirms that the structure withstands both static and dynamic loads and is capable of resisting break-in attempts using simple tools. According to the standard, the minimum resistance time is 3 minutes when using a screwdriver, wedge, pliers, or adjustable spanner, while the actual resistance can reach up to 15 minutes.
According to Ivan Bohdan, the results open new export opportunities for Winkhaus partners to supply Ukrainian windows to EU countries. For the domestic market, this provides an additional argument in professional discussions about private home security.
The project involved the Ukrainian window manufacturer Ekipazh, which produced and delivered the samples; Winkhaus Ukraina, which supplied the anti-burglary fittings; Glas Trösch Ukraine, which provided the insulating glass units; Sika, which offered technical support and consultations; and Winkhaus Polska, which joined in promoting the project.
Earlier, Winkhaus Ukraine reported that it had conducted training and briefings for the window manufacturer EKIPAZH to issue a licence for producing RC2-class burglar-resistant windows.
