Graduates of vocational colleges will validate their skills at qualification centres from 2027

The Committee on Education, Science and Innovation has reported that from 2027, graduates of vocational colleges will take qualification exams at qualification centres and validate their level of skills there in accordance with the Law of Ukraine “On Vocational Education”.

Committee Chair Serhii Babak emphasised oversight of the quality of the centres’ work: “Starting from 2027, graduates of vocational colleges will validate their qualification specifically at qualification centres. Therefore, together with the National Qualifications Agency, we are now paying special attention to accreditation requirements and post-accreditation monitoring to ensure that all qualification centres operate with integrity.”

After completing their studies, vocational education institutions will issue vouchers to graduates. These will allow them to undergo skills assessment at any qualification centre. The centres will be able to award a full or partial qualification. They will also issue a certificate.

As a reminder, the Association Ukrainian Manufacturers of Transparent Structures (UMTS), within the national training project for the transparent structures industry WindowED, plans to open a qualification centre. It is expected to start operating on the basis of the Kyiv College of Civil Engineering in August–September 2026. The centre will operate to award or validate the professional qualifications of installers.
