The GB continues to recognise the CE marking, but other rules will apply to construction products

The GB government has announced that the country will continue recognising the CE marking for certain products until 31 December 2024. Construction products will not have by the extension and must carry the UKCA mark from 1 January 2023. The UKCA marking indicates a product's compliance with the GB law.

After Brexit, Great Britain stated that goods must use the UKCA mark. But the government has pushed back the full transition date for some products due to the post-pandemic effects, russia's attack on Ukraine and high energy prices. There will be different rules for construction products. Government departments "are making sector specific arrangements".

The CE marking and the UKCA marking are currently equal in the UK market. This applies to England, Scotland and Wales. Northern Ireland will continue to recognise the CE marking for products on its market.
