The Passive House Institute will talk about windows as an important element of a passive house and their weaknesses

The independent scientific research institute, Passive House Institute (PHI), develops and promotes the "passive house" concept.
PHI experts will talk to the Ukrainian audience about transparent structures as one of the important elements of a passive house and how to improve their energy efficiency.

At the online conference WKC VI: FRONTALE EDITION, which will take place on May 24, 2024, PHI specialists will give presentations:
  • “Windows — Eyes to the World” by Prof. Dr. Wolfgang Feist, director and founder of PHI.
    About transparent structures as one of the important elements of a passive house.
  • “Improving and Increasing the Energy Efficiency of Window Structures through Enhanced Components and Certification” by Adrian Muskatewitz, head of the PHI component certification department.
    About the weak points of windows from the perspective of energy loss.

Passive houses are considered to be buildings where heating consumption is less than 15 kWh/m² per year. By comparison, the heating consumption of most Ukrainian buildings (both multi-apartment and private) is 150-250 kWh/m² per year.
