So, the core of the Elegant ThermoFibra Infinity profile is made from recycled material. Additionally, the company can recycle these profiles at its factory. The fiberglass is completely separated from the PVC.
Combined with Forthex reinforcement in the frame, the Elegant ThermoFibra Infinity profile can achieve thermal insulation values of up to Uf 0.85 W/m2K for windows. This meets the thermal insulation requirements for passive houses.
The Forthex plastic reinforcement is strengthened with steel wires and filled with low-density foam. Therefore, it is thermally insulating and does not act as a thermal bridge. As a bonus, the screw pull-out strength in Forthex is higher than in steel reinforcement.
For reference.
Deceuninck launched the technology of adding fibreglass to window and door profiles during extrusion in 2012. In 2020, ThermoFibra and Forthex were introduced to the markets of Germany, Austria, and Switzerland.
