This was announced at the International Trade Press Day by Roto DST CEO Christoph Hugenberg. The manufacturer expects continued positive development in the medium and long term.
At the beginning of the 2022 financial year, the effects of the pandemic were feel. Since January 2020, plastic has risen in price by 62%, aluminium - by 98%, and natural gas - by 347%. The situation was exacerbated by russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine. This led to a new shortage of materials. In February 2022, the company raised prices by an average of 3.4%.
Among the positive factors, the company calls for stable construction activity, growth in the reconstruction market and increased orders. Processors are concerned about further price increases and are building up stocks.
Roto DST sells the most roof windows in Germany. This market showed double-digit growth in the first half of 2022. In Italy, Poland, Hungary and the Czech Republic, new market shares were gained. A slight drop in sales was recorded in France.
The most important factor of success Christoph Hugenberg called constant adaptation to customer requirements. Efficient processes, a high level of automation, employees and good partnerships with suppliers and customers are also considered key to success.
In the second half of 2022, the situation in the Roto DST market deteriorated due to growing consumer uncertainty, inflation and political instability. But, the company expects the market to stabilize in the medium to long term.
