According to the Verkhovna Rada committee, more than 2.4 million Ukrainians lost their home or living in houses damaged by the occupiers.
Applications will be accepted during martial law and for one year after its end. If the dwelling was destroyed after the war, for example, due to mine clearance, the application can be made within three years of the lifting of martial law.
Who can receive compensation?
- Owners of the property.
- Customers of building.
- Investors.
- Heirs of the above.
- Condominiums, managers and housing cooperatives can apply for compensation for the common property.
Algorithm of actions:
- Submit an application through Diia, an administrative services centre, a notary or a social security office.
- Receive a decision from the Commission and a housing certificate.
- Choose a flat on the property market.
Local authorities will set up compensation commissions. They will examine the applications, inspect the damage and determine the amount of compensation. The Cabinet of Ministers will provide the methodology for determining the amount of compensation.
