Under the eVidnovlennia programme, the government plans to pay compensation for repairs made at their own expense. These changes were approved at a government meeting on 21 July 2023. The Prime Minister instructed the Ministry of Communities, Territories and Infrastructure Development and the Ministry of Digital Transformation to develop a compensation mechanism.
In the first phase of eVidnovlennia, Ukrainians received funds to repair their homes that were damaged as a result by russian aggression. The house had to be located in non-occupied territory for a regional commission to assess the damage and the amount of compensation. The funds can be used for building materials and contractor services from companies that have joined the programme.
A new phase has now begun: the provision of funds for the purchase of new housing. This is for houses that have been completely destroyed and cannot be rebuilt.
The next step is to provide money to rebuild a house on one's own plot of land. As well as expanding compensation for repairs.
Compensation for repairs at one's own expense is expected to start this autumn, reports OKNA.ua.
In order to receive compensation, homeowners must refuse future reparations from the aggressor state.
