The Pilkington Italia team received the award for NSG TEC conductive glass. The MADE Award 2023 jury recognised the product as "a technological innovation that raises the bar for the performance of thermally controlled glass and sets a new benchmark for performance in the market".
The design provides for an additional function of the window: the ability to heat the room. This is a transparent low-emission glass with electrical conductivity properties. According to NSG Group, it can complement the heating system by maintaining the temperature of the glass surface between 35-45 °C. It also prevents condensation from forming on the glass.
In addition to the manufacture of heated windows, the manufacturer suggests using the NSG TEC range of glasses for thin-film photovoltaic devices, screening, household appliances, etc.
