In July 2024, employers received 11.9 million UAH from the state for setting up inclusive workplaces. According to the Ministry of Economy, employers received compensation for creating accessible workplaces for 160 employees with disabilities in categories I and II.
To make the compensation program easier to use, an option to submit an application via the "Diia" platform was previously introduced.
Overall, the program began in August 2023. It is part of the National Strategy for the Creation of a Barrier-Free Space in Ukraine and aims to create an inclusive environment and ensure equal opportunities for everyone.
An employer can receive compensation for setting up a workplace for employees with category I disabilities – up to 106.5 thousand UAH, and for category II disabilities – up to 71 thousand UAH. These expenses cover the purchase of special furniture, adaptations, equipment, etc.
