The Supervisory Board of the Energy Efficiency Fund has approved changes to the VidnovyDIM programme. One of the most significant changes is an increase in the maximum grant amount from UAH 6 million to UAH 7.2 million.

According to Yehor Fareniuk, Director of the Energy Efficiency Fund, at the WINDO KYIV Conference IV, the programme was originally intended to focus on the restoration of windows and doors. However, as the programme was being prepared for launch, it became clear that there was a need to restore facades, roofs and utility networks. While window help began in May-June, the comprehensive restoration required significant funding. And after the programme was launched in November 2022, it became clear that the maximum value of the grant needed to be increased.

The Fund does not accredit contractors or maintain separate lists of contractors. Co-owners select those who will carry out the work themselves. To protect homeowners from potential abuse, the Fund has set limits on materials and typical works for restoration.

For example, translucent structures for heated rooms should be made of a 70 mm frame, a 32 mm double-glazed unit with i-glass and filled with argon.
The cost of disassembly, manufacture, installation, arrangement of slopes, ebb and insulation of abutments should not exceed 8,000 UAH per m2.
The cost of balconies and loggias (58-mm frame, 24-mm double glazing) should not exceed UAH 5,500 per m2.
The largest cost of a double-glazed window, if the frame is intact and functional, is 4,000 UAH per m2.
Entrance doors - 10,000 UAH per m2. As a rule, co-owners are choosing metal-insulated doors.

Requirements for construction companies have also been developed, including more than three years of experience in the construction industry, experience in carrying out the work required for restoration, and others.

The geographical scope of the programme has also been expanded. It now operates in the Dnipropetrovsk, Zhytomyr, Kyiv (including Kyiv City), Mykolaiv, Sumy and Chernihiv regions.

The program funded by the European Union, which is providing a total of €25 million, including €5 million for the pilot phase. According to the Foundation's estimates, €5 million will enable the rehabilitation of about 100 buildings, while €25 million will enable the restoration of 500 buildings.
