Profile systems manufacturer Gealan has celebrated the completion of a new multi-level warehouse at its plant in Tann, Germany. According to the press centre, the cost of the building was €15 million.
Work is currently underway to lay insulation and the outer shell. The building will be energy efficient under the KfW 45 standard. It means the annual primary energy savings will be 55% compared to the reference building.
The next stages will include electrical work, lighting and smoke detectors for fire protection.
At the start construct ceremony, it was announced that the warehouse would be commissioned in the first half of 2024. Now the deadline has pushed back. Tino Albert, GEALAN’s General Manager for Technology and Finance, expects the warehouse to works in February this year.
Another important investment in the European window market has been announced. Glas Trösch is going to build a new glass plant in Belgium. The producing sheet glass plans to start in 2025.
The multi-level warehouse will have 5,020 storage spaces. The software will control the storage and retrieval of goods using two warehouse machines.
