Guardian Glass has followed the global trend and launched a low-carbon glass. Guardian Nexa float glass was introduced to the European market after a successful pilot production.
According to the company, Guardian Nexa can be used as both basic and laminated glass. It contains 30% less carbon to about 7.0 kg CO2 e/m2 for 4 mm float glass. The comparison was made between Guardian Nexa and Guardian ExtraClear glass, both produced in Europe.
It also uses a higher content of recycled glass.
Guardian Nexa glass should help reduce the carbon footprint of buildings.
The company is planning to obtain an environmental protection declaration (EPD) for Guardian Nexa. It should be available in the second quarter of 2024.
