German company Lohmann Tapes presented double-sided adhesive tape for bonding double-glazed windows. At the window exhibition Fensterbau Frontale the company demonstrated that with the help of this tape it is possible to achieve resistance to burglary RC2.
Bonding glass to the profile using only adhesive tape is called Static Direct Glazing (SDG). The glass unit glued directly to the window sash. Glued glazing in the structure is a prerequisite for achieving RC2 burglary resistance. The adhesive bonding strength of DuploCOLL tapes complies with the ift VE-08/2 (testing the properties of glued window sashes).
The company's specialists also emphasize that using adhesive tapes extends the service life of windows. For PVC windows, using tapes allows producing structures without steel reinforcement, which increases their thermal insulation properties. A static load transferred to the glass unit.
DuploCOLL® 56002, DuploCOLL® 56003 and DuploCOLL® 56005 tapes can be used on various materials: PVC, wood, aluminum and glass-reinforced.
